So here is the Travel Itenerary:

plan

Day 1 Was June 1st and Laura and after packing my car with all the “necessities” for moving across the country we began our journey to Atlanta GA. In no way did this help us get their faster. This trip was completely out of the way, but we both wanted to see our friends from Catalyst and I missed Atlanta anyway. Once there we enjoyed a great meal with our friends Jesse and Melissa at Cafe Intermezzo (one of my FAVORITE places to eat in Atlanta). That night we crashed at Melissa’s and woke the next morning to a glorious breakfast! Here are a few photos from Atlanta:

Day2 From Atlanta we drove to Nashville to see my friend Britt.

Afterwards we stopped in Kansas City and saw the International House of Prayer.

Next we connected to Omaha Nebraska to catch up with one of the other Catalyst Volunteers Michelle! We had an absolute blast  hanging out with Michelle.

Day 3 we drove to Denver Colorado to meet stay with one of Laura’s friends Josh. He was a great host! Here’s a photo of how I almost ran out of gas by not paying attention…

Day 4From Denver we drove to Salt Lake City Utah to stay with my friend Chealse Babbish who I haven’t seen in a complete year! While there we met up with my friend Matt Hawkins and Chealse’s boyfriend Tyler. This was the absolute most fun we had during our journey. We pulled my bike out of the car (after we unpacked EVERYTHING I brought) and rode bikes all around town. We saw the huge Mormon temple and also got thrown out by their “Special” Temple Police for riding our bikes near the Temple. At midnight we also participated in a ride Tyler started that he calls “Midnight Mass”. So Laura and I met tons of new friends. Here are photos (I will also update this with more when I get some photos off my phone.

That last photo is of the sleeping bag that Tyler had for me!!! Also make sure you check out Chealse’s bike! IT’S INCREDIBLE!

After Salt Lake we stopped by Lake Tahoe before continuing to Reno Nevada.

Our drive destination was to meet with Laura’s old pastor from her childhood. A strange note is that we actually slept on Laura & her sister’s old beds! This was a day full of driving that exhausted me so I didn’t actually see much of Reno. I’m still pretty disappointed.

Our next stop was San Francisco. This was a horrible DAY. We got downtown on a Sunday some time around 6pm. Just in case you EVER feel like going to downtown San Francisco DO NOT go after 6pm because EVERYTHING WILL BE CLOSED. Also, in case you have to pee, you are SCREWED!!! We walked around downtown for at least an hour and didn’t find a SINGLE public bathroom. We did find a Starbucks, BUT THE BATHROOM WAS BROKEN!!! It’s a great time to meet the homeless though. They were all out and about finding their place to crash. Since San Fran didn’t work out all that great we drove an hour south to find a hotel room with 2 beds.

Our next day was a very slow and relaxed drive down the 1 Coastal Highway. If you ever have a chance to drive on the 1, make sure you do it because the views will BLOW your mind!!!
