img_8908I spent a wonderful five days with my good friend Josh and his Fiance Lenny! We all had a blast catching up on life, watching movies and getting some epic meals (goodness CHILIS got Blackberry Lemonade RIGHT!!!).

img_8932Leaving Indianapolis also seemed dangerous considering that a pretty strong snow storm had begun somewhere around 3 or 4 in the morning and my flight was at 9. I got to the airport around 7 and hung out while I watched the snow collect on the wings of the planes. This made me nervous since I was pretty confident that my plane was not going to fly. I was completely wrong about that and boarded on time. The problem came with de-icing the place. Now this process was cool as crap, the bad part was that it made us about an hour late. I completely missed my flight from Charlotte to Raleigh (which was actually great because I got to get a flight direct to Greensboro).

This de-icing work consisted of lining up the planes before they took off and then having trucks with mounted crane/buckets (like you would see electricians working on power lines) that would first spray down the entire plane with a de-icing spray and after they covered the plane in that, they had some kind of preventative spray to keep ice from forming once we were in the air. After all that was done it was clear sailing.

Arriving in Greensboro was a nice treat because I really didn’t want to have to ride in a car for another 70-90 minutes after a near full day of flying… This was a glorious trip and it helped me get hooked on the words of Shane Claiborne. I can’t recommend reading his book, The Irresistible Revolution more. I have spent so much time being skeptical about Christianity and Church. This book was a breath of glorious air.

Thanks to Josh, Lenny, the Morgante Family, Rachel, Hobby, Brian, Kris, Matt, Andrew, Josh, Tony, Cassie, Tallon (best name ever) for giving me the gift of good conversation!

Final THANKS to Josh for the best Mighty Muggs yet!
