This post includes photos and stories from my trip to Disney this past week. Tom, Dusty and I left on Sunday, spent the night in Daytona and checked into Disney’s Port Orleans resort on Monday. We spent Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday hopping back and fourth between the various parks! Disney World truly is a magical place and I couldn’t imagine spending it in better company. I also couldn’t imagine going with kids under the age of 18, especially not under the age of 4. Monday was mostly spent in the Magic Kingdown with dinner at the Japanese restaurant located in Epcot. Tuesday we spent the day in the Animal Kingdom and had dinner on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort. That meal was particularly special because we enjoyed the Magic Kingdom’s firework display from the roof of the resort (which was gloriously epic). Wednesday was spent at Epcot traveling and we enjoyed a wonderful meal in Germany for dinner which included an amazing show. Our last day was spent at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and we had our last meal back at Japan in Epcot. If you are going to Disney, make sure you try out the Japanese Restaurant! There are so many stories to share about bandits, castles, strange and spontaneously shouting the name “Devin O’ Brien” while riding coasters for no reason. I will save most of the stories to go with the photos.
Enjoy

P.S. Kim Possible and I kick ass.

Let’s begin with photos from the beginning of the journey. Evidently I didn’t bother taking any until we got to Daytona Florida. Here are some shots from the beach!

Now for the Magic Kingdom!Introducing Dusty Zahrt:
Tom Schmuck:

oh and I was there too

Dinner was here:

Day 2 at the Animal Kingdom:

The giraffe says “Moop Moop”

Waiting to get our photos with Mickey:

Here is a photo from the rooftop firework display:

Back at the room the next morning, Dusty had some words of wisdom:

Day 3 was at Epcot, and here is Tom chilling…

There’s a long story about how awkward it got when I asked Belle if she would “scratch my beard” for the photo. I was very polite and said I had a request that she could feel free to say no to since I know there are kids in line and such. So I politely asked if she would scratch the beard in the photo and she completely froze. Beast steps in front of me (Tom and Dusty told me that he had Belle scratch his beard) and then when he pulled away she still appeared to be confused. Very shyly she said “that sounds scary” and I just just trying to tell them to go ahead and pose normal for that photo that it was completely fine to not do it the way I wanted. It was really weird, and the guys had a great time laughing the butts off.

The third night we ate at Biergarten which is the restaurant located in Germany. Please note tom’s $11 beer that was a full liter.

Dusty and I had small root beers. They wouldn’t put them in mugs. I was very upset about this.

We are pretty into vikings…

China at night:

Epcot at night:

Our nights back at the room were quite interesting…

Hollywood Studios was a blast! My personal favorite area was the Star Wars area

Found some Lost props at the ABC restaurant!

The Aerosmith Rollercoaster was a blast! Tom’s face was glorious:

Meetings Kim Possible was probably one of the best parts of our journey!

Freakin’ Power Rangers. This was an epic day!

She wouldn’t scratch the beard either…

It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite holiday movie.

Downtown Disney didn’t treat us very well…so this was Tom’s message:

All that was left was to check out of our resort at Disney:

I want to also take a moment to note that this was my first time riding real roller coasters, and I hit every coaster at Disney and Universal! It was quite glorious. Without a doubt a week spent at Disney and Universal was definitely the best week of my life!
Now for some assorted Videos:
